Message From Our Principals

Dear Meadow Lake Families,

This week, our 3rd–5th grade students had the opportunity to show off their reading skills by completing the Reading MCA tests. We are proud of the patience and perseverance they demonstrated throughout the week.

Students in Grades 3–5 will take the Math MCA next week, and our 5th grade students will complete the Science MCA the following week. We have listed the dates and times for the upcoming Math and Science tests below.

MCA Testing Dates and Times (8:15 AM Start Time):

  • MCA Math (Grades 3–5): April 21 & 22
  • MCA Science (Grade 5 only): April 28 & 29

How Students Can Be Successful During MCA Testing:

  • Do your own best work to show what you know and can do.
  • Do not accept help finding answers to test questions.
  • Refrain from giving answers to other students.
  • Refrain from telling others what is on the test.

It is very important that students arrive on time for testing each day. We appreciate everything you do at home to support our students and help set them up for success.

Severe Weather/Tornado Drill
On Thursday, Meadow Lake conducted a severe weather/tornado drill to ensure staff and students understand safety procedures. During the drill, students practiced moving to interior, designated safe areas away from windows. Practicing these procedures helps reduce fear and ensures a calm, orderly response during real emergencies.

Wise With Waste Assembly
Our 2nd–5th grade students had a blast at the Wise With Waste assembly on Friday! Thank you to our community partners, Hennepin County Recycling and the Twin Cities Road Crew. Their team did a phenomenal job engaging and educating students about the importance of recycling and environmental sustainability. We appreciate the opportunity for our students to learn how they can make a positive impact on our environment.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support!

Warm regards!

Principal Lacy and Principal Azure
