Message From Our Principals

March is National Reading Month!

March is National Reading Month, and we are excited to celebrate the joy of reading with our students! Developing a love for reading at an early age is key to lifelong learning, and we encourage our entire school community—students, teachers, and families—to join in the fun.  Ms. Holly Thompson, MLE Media Specialist and Ms. Emily Lange, Media EA have done a fantastic job creating daily themes encouraging our students to read.  On Friday, March 14th, 2025 students and staff can dress as their favorite storybook character!

School-Wide Reading Activities:

  • Reading Challenge – Students can track their reading minutes throughout the month to earn fun rewards and recognition. Let’s see how many books our school can read together!

  • Mystery Reader Thursdays Reveal – Surprise guest readers (staff, parents, or community members) will pop into classrooms to share their favorite stories.

How Families Can Support Reading at Home:

  • Make Reading a Daily Habit – Set aside 15-20 minutes each night for family reading time.
  • Visit the Library – Explore new books together and let children choose what interests them.
  •  Ask Questions While Reading – Engage kids by discussing characters, predicting story outcomes, and making connections to real life.
  • Be a Reading Role Model – Let your child see you enjoying books, newspapers, or magazines!
  • We can’t wait to celebrate a month full of reading adventures with our students! Thank you for fostering a love of literacy at home and school.

Happy Reading!
