Amy O'Hern

Amy O'Hern became our 10th principal in 2012. Ms. O'Hern worked at Meadow Lake for 20 years. She started out working in Adventure Club, Meadow Lake's before/after school program. Then she moved on to teach grades 5, 2, and 1. In addition, she served as Meadow Lake's math mentor and most recently as our assistant
principal.  Ms. O'Hern was an awesome principal and loved by all.  Ms. O'Hern will be the new principal at Sandburg Middle School for the 2017-2018 school year.

Winter of 2014

The winter of 2014 was a long and snowy one.The picture below shows room 15 (Mrs. Leslie Peterson's 1st grade classroom). As you can see, her windows were almost completely covered with snow. The pictures to the right show her windows from outside in the courtyard.Ms. Lehn (3rd grade teacher) was nice enough to shovel some of the snow away from Mrs. Peterson's windows, but the snow was so hard that it broke her shovel! Mrs. Peterson says that she has never seen the snow this high in the last 15 or so years that she's been in room 15!

Summer 2016

During the summer of 2016 they added on a new orchestra room to our school.  It was placed in the area between the teachers' lounge and room 21. This was much needed, as the orchestra had been practicing in the storage closet the last few years, due to lack of space!

DJ Dance Party Tradition

It's been a tradition for the past few years for all the students to participate in an outdoor DJ Dance Party at the end of the school year.  The kids love dancing outside with all their friends!
