Title I

Meadow Lake is a school-wide Title I school. Title I is a federally funded program that aims to support learners in meeting the state's academic standards. Title I programming supplements Meadow Lake Elementary's regular education programming, providing services for students identified as needing assistance in meeting grade level expectations.

Although funding for Title I is related to the number of students who receive free or reduced price meals, participation has nothing to do with economic status. Meadow Lake Elementary is a school wide-based program.

Title I services are provided by licensed staff. Students may be seen individually or in small groups. Specific skill areas are targeted, depending on students' needs. This support is in addition to the instruction students receive in the general education classroom.

This means:

  • Meadow Lake Elementary receives extra funding from the Federal Government for staffing and resources.

  • Extra support staff in all classrooms and/or small pull outs throughout the school day.

  • It is important for students, parents and teachers to work together to help each student meet their best potential. The School Compact provides ways that everyone can work together: Title 1: School Compact English and Title 1: School Compact Spanish

  • Robbinsdale Area Schools Title I Brochure explains the programming for Meadow Lake Elementary: English and Espanol

  • Meadow Lake Elementary develops a schoolwide Title I plan that focuses on goals, implementation processes and measures for School Accountability. The Meadow Lake School Improvement Plan is a comprehensive plan for reading, mathematics, attendance, and school culture/climate.

Meadow Lake Elementary also follows the state process for Homeless and High Mobile. Please contact the school social worker if you need additional assistance.
