Mr. Calhoun became principal in 2002. It is his tradition to wear animal costumes that look funny for "I Love to Read Month."
Enrichment clusters are a fun part of our school year at Meadow Lake. We began the Enrichment Cluster program in 2002. Every student in the school gets to participate in an enrichment cluster during the school year. Enrichment Clusters are multi-age groups of students who share a common interest and who come together once a week during a special time period to pursue these interests through the production of a product, performance, or a service.
Mrs. Hiel became Meadow Lake's 9th principal during the 2008-2009 school year. She feels like she's right at home because she was formerly ML's assistant principal from 2000-2004. Mrs. Hiel has lots of fun and exciting plans for the students and staff of ML!
Amy O'Hern became our 10th principal in 2012. Ms. O'Hern has spent much of her career at MeadowLake. She started out working in Adventure Club, Meadow Lake's before/afterschool program. Then she moved on to teach grades 5, 2, and 1. In addition, she served as MeadowLake's math mentor and most recently as our assistant
principal. We are excited to find out about all the new and interesting things Ms. O'Hern has in store for Meadow Lake!
Winter of 2014
The winter of 2014 has been a long and snowy one.The picture below shows room 15 (Mrs. Leslie Peterson's 1st grade classroom). As you can see her windows are almost completely covered with snow. The pictures to the right show her windows from outside in the courtyard.Ms. Lehn (3rd grade teacher) was nice enough to shovel some of the snow away from Mrs. Peterson's windows, but the snow was so hard that it broke her shovel!Mrs. Peterson says that she has never seen the snow this high in the last 15 or so years that she's been in room 15!
